Did you know...?
In medieval times people in medieval Europe did not use the same calendar we use today. While the Julian Calender had much in common with our calender, the Gregorian Calender we use today wasn't introduced until the 16th century.

THANKS!

A big THANK YOU to Lujuba, Storyteller, and Charon for their help. Without you this would not have been possible.

Ars Magica

Imagine a powerful order of wizards that stretches across Europe. Hidden away from the prying eyes of the Church and the superstitious fear of the peasants, the wizards of this order study the arcane arts, copy ancient rituals into Latin, carve sigils into enchanted blades, and politick with their bretheren. The wizards welcome into their midst all those who do not fit into medieval society; misshapen fortune tellers, restless scholars, the faery-touched. Together they carve a place for themselves amidst the mysterious and dangerous lands of the middle ages, where great wyrms lie in mountain caves, shapeshifting faeries prowl echanted forests, and crusading knights lay waste to entire towns.

This is the setting of Ars Magica, a fantastic storytelling game of magic in a mythical version of 13th Century Europe. Ars Magica is in its 5th edition, and is currently owned and produced by Atlas Games. Ars Magica has several aspects that set it apart from other fantasy roleplaying games. It is probably best known for its innovative and versatile magic system, which allows Magi to specialize in up to fifteen different kinds of magic. But Ars Magica also stands apart because of its Troupe style of play, and its Mythic Europe setting, where the superstitions and faery tales of the middle ages are actually true.
